This month, we're talking with Scott Meiklejohn, Investment Manager at Resolution Digital in Victoria, to discuss his experience working in the media industry and what he loves about OOH.


How long have you been in your current role?

11 months.


What made you want to enter the advertising industry?

I’ve always been in advertising. Marketing is something I studied, and I happened to be one of the lucky ones to end up in the industry.


What does a typical day look like for you?

It’s hard to describe a typical day, each day is vastly different! One day I might be attending a media event with back-to-back meetings, the next I am responding to briefs and planning for upcoming campaigns.


What do you love about working in media?

The challenge. Every day presents new opportunities and problems to work on. However, the thing I enjoy the most is being out and about and seeing my work come to life. 


What makes OOH unique?

OOH is unique because it’s hard to miss! You can’t deny it’s ability to reach people efficiently which is why it is an important above-the-line channel. You can be super creative with OOH across the various formats and special builds present unique creative executions. I also think it is one of the formats that will remain relevant despite the media landscape constantly evolving. OOH is here to stay.


Fun fact about you not many people know? 

I’m well-travelled and have been to some unique places – Chernobyl is one of them.


What is your favourite OOH campaign?

Probably Nike’s Air Max Day 3D billboard campaign that was running in Tokyo a couple of years back. I am a bit of a sneakerhead and a fan of 3D OOH so this resonated with me.
